there are no men
”Could you paddle any faster?” Jaime complained. It felt more like they were taking a leisurely float down the stream than actually trying to make it across without being spotted. Not that Jaime actually minded the break from walking… At this point he was simply saying anything that he knew might annoy Brienne. One, because it was enjoyable. And two because there was absolutely nothing else to do. He sighed exasperatedly and went to grab the ore out of her hands. ”Give me that. You may look nothing like a woman, but you’ve still not the strength of a man.” Of course, Brienne couldn’t just give him the ore (because gods forbid he paddled… they were in the middle of the river it wasn’t like he had anywhere to run) and in the midst of the two fighting over it, it was flung into the water. ”Well now look what you’ve done.”

and i'm a woman,
Brienne was trying very hard to remind herself that she was a woman of honor. She made a promise and she was raised to keep her promises and keep her honor. However when she was learning this she never imaged her honor would keep her on a small boat with the Kingslayer. The woman had heard stories about him but none of them indicated how annoying he was. And obnoxious. And rude. Could you paddle any faster? And impatient. Brienne sent him a glare before continuing to paddle. The woman had been provoked enough, she wasn’t going to let it keep happening. Give me that. Brienne jerked her body back at Jamie reached for the oar. You may look nothing like a woman, but you’ve still not strength of a man. “I can hold my own against you,” Brienne countered, trying to insult him. She fought for the oar. Half tempted to smack him with the oar, which she would have done if someone didn’t lose the damn thing. Well now look what you’ve done. “What I have done?!” Brienne exclaimed incredulously. “If you didn’t try to take it from me none of that would have happened!” It was his fault. He needed to be patient and trust that she would have gotten him to Kings Landing. But of course he couldn’t do that. She took a glove off and promptly smacked him in the face with it.

Jaime was trying very hard to make Brienne’s life as difficult as humanly possible. (Sorry, I felt like mocking the beginning of your post.) ”I can hold my own against you.” ”For a moment, perhaps.” he said, very dismissively. The woman was strong, and not in chains, but Jaime had no doubt that he could still take her down easily if he were able to goad her into a fight. Something he’d been trying to do unsuccessfully for some time now. Jaime only had possession of the ore for a few seconds (and possession is a lose term considering it was still in Brienne’s hand's as well) before it flew into the water. Well. That. Was. Just. Great. ”What I have done?! If you didn’t try to take it from me none of this would have happened!” ”If you had just given it to me I wouldn’t have had to take it from you.” Obviously, this was entirely her fault. Jaime didn’t know what he’d been expecting but the slap in the face surprised him. ”Excuse you,” he commented, wrinkling his nose. He pretended to think, smirking slightly as he added ”I don’t think that’s a very proper way to be taking out frustration.” You know, for someone who was oh so honorable..

and i'm a woman,
For a moment, perhaps. Brienne rolled her eyes, it would definitely be more than a moment, But of course she wasn’t going to say that. Brienne didn’t need to defend herself. She knew what she was capable of and what she could do. And she could certainly take was totally about to say do Jaime. But anyways back to what was actually happening on the boat. With the ore and the water. And the fighting. And the blaming, which it was totally Jamie’s fault. Not moving on my position on that one. It was his fault. The end. If you had just given it to me I wouldn’t have had to take it from you. “You didn’t need the ore!” Brienne shouted. He wasn’t going to paddle the boat. She was paddling the boat. She was the one that was bringing him to King’s Landing. He was a prisoner, of some sort, he should start acting like one. Be quiet and let her do her job. He really should be grateful that she didn’t kill him the moment Catelyn Stark handed him over. She could have turned on him, he should be grateful. Instead he was being a whiny, impatient, brat. And he completely deserved that slap. Excuse you. Brienne sat back down and adjusted herself. I don’t think that’s a very proper way to be taking out frustration. “You don’t get proper anymore. You lost that privilege.” Brienne was done. She just wanted to get Jamie to King’s Landing, and that was it.

”You didn’t need the ore!” Jaime scoffed. ”Clearly you weren’t capable of handling it.” Had she given it to him, they wouldn’t have been in this situation right now. There was no doubt in his mind. Jaime wasn’t grateful for anything that Bienne was doing because he didn’t regret anything that he’d done. He rolled his jaw after being slapped, not particularly phased by the outburst. ”You don’t get proper anymore. You lost that privilege.” ”Forgive me for not mourning your compassion.” Because you know, she had been giving him oh so much of that before. The girl may had been a good fighter, but there were definitely others reason why she didn’t have fiends.

and i'm a woman,
Clearly you weren’t capable of handling it. “I was very capable!” Brienne exclaimed. Just because she wasn’t moving at his speed or the way he wanted, meant nothing. She was not there to please him. She was there to get him to King’s Landing and trade him for Catelyn’s children. That was what she was there for. She didn’t serve him and he needed to realize that. Forgive me for not mourning your compassion. “I question the sincerity of that,” Brienne countered, very well aware that he was just being a little shit. A royal, whiny, shit. Brienne wondered what she did to deserve such karma. She was a good woman, a good soldier. Damn her honorable nature, it got her every time. Brienne glanced around to see how far she was from the shore. It wasn’t too far away…if they had an oar. “I suggest you start paddling, Kingslayer.” She wasn’t doing all the work this time. It would be one thing if she had an oar, but now she had to paddle because of him. So he had to make up for such things and paddle.

"I was very capable!" "Could have fooled me." Okay, so Jaime was enjoying getting a reaction out of the woman a little too much. It wasn't his fault that it was so easy to get under her skin. For a warrior, she was very easily offended. "I question the sincerity of that." "Maybe you're not completely stupid after all," Jaime acknowledged, rolling his eyes. He was being a little shit. But you know what, he'd spent the last year in the fucking cage. Excuse his lack of social skills. As far as he was concerned he was entitled to it. Brienne was Catelyn Stark's lackey… It would take a lot more to earn his respect. "I suggest you start paddling, Kingslayer." He raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms as much as the chains allowed. "And what if I don't?" She was required to bring him to Kingslanding regardless of whether or not he cooperated with her.
